Dakota Ultrasonics UMX-2 is an underwater material and coating thickness gauge designed for offshore inspections and is rated to operate at a depth of 1000 feet (300 meters).

The UMX-2 is highly versatile and works with both Dual & Single element transducers. The UMX-2 comes equipped with multiple measurement mode options to match all your application requirements. The unit comes with an onboard 5,000 point data logger and stores each measurement, along with an actual A-Scan waveform.

The DakView java-based PC or MAC OSX software makes the unit easy to use in a variety of applications.

The Dakota UMX-2 features a 100MHz DSP platform using FPGA technology with Two Channels including dual pulsers and receivers. The unit has up to a 140Hz pulse repetition rate and display update rate of 25 times per second.

The adjustable gain settings are vlow, low, med, hi, vhi. The UMX-2 also has automatic gain control (AGC), time corrected gain (TCG) and has a large data storage capacity of 32 Megabit of non-volatile RAM.
